About This Interview
In his Archive interview, producer E. Roger Muir (1918-2008) discusses his early TV directing experiences for NBC. He talks about becoming the producer of the popular children's program The Howdy Doody Show, which he produced throughout the program's run. He also speaks about the creation of Gumby, which debuted on the program. He then chronicles his job heading children's programming at NBC before leaving NBC to produce gameshows. The three-hour interview was conducted October 20, 1999 by Karen Herman.

Thank you,Thank you for this interview.I enjoyed these 6 parts on Mr Muir who is a distant cousin ,His family Michael Muir and Mary Marshall and some of their family came from Kilmarnock ,Ayershire in Scotland abt 1840 to Nova Scotia Canada A small place Eureka/Riverton outside of Stellarton .was the location of their farm in Pictou County.We are very proud of Roger Muirs accomplishments in the TV medium. I regret i did not know him but these videos have been a wonderful introduction.
