JOHN DALY AND THE NEWS (1953-1960) John Charles Daly is the newsman most identified with ABC's nightly news in the early days of television. Daly is better-known today as the host of the classic game show What's My Line? on CBS (which he did simultaneously with the ABC news). Daly's news broadcast followed a series of ABC evening news programs: News and Views (1948-1951), After the Deadlines (1951-52), and All Star News (1952-53).
