CBS Reports FTC

CBS REPORTS (debut October 1959).  Airing on a regular and irregular basis, this series initally continued the news team of reporter Edward R. Murrow and producer Fred W. Friendly.  Among the most notable documentaries produced in the early years were "Harvest of Shame" (1960) [an expose of the plight of American migrant workers] and "The Selling of the Petagon" (1971) [a controversial report examining the Pentagon's public relations activity].  Watch Archive interviewees including newsmen Ed Bradley, Andy Rooney, and Bob Schieffer and executives Sig Mickelson and Frank Stanton discussing this nonfiction series.
